Professor Budi Guntoro, Dean of the UGM Faculty of Animal Science (Animal Science UGM), has been honored with the 2024 CPAf Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB).
The award was presented on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at the 106th UPLB Alumni Awarding Ceremony at The Charles Fuller Baker Hall in Los Baños, Philippines.
The award is the result of a highly selective evaluation process that considers UPLB alumni from the Philippines and abroad.
Professor Guntoro expressed his joy and pride in receiving the award from UPLB, where he completed his Master of Science degree in 2000.
He was recognized for contributing to human development, humanitarian efforts, and institutional and international cooperation.
“This award is extraordinary because UPLB is the best university in the Philippines, and many of its alumni have achieved great things domestically and internationally. It is rare for UPLB to award international alumni due to the highly competitive selection process,” the professor remarked.
This award further motivates Professor Guntoro to continue striving for excellence, making progress for the greater good, and working selflessly.
“This award is dedicated entirely to the Faculty of Animal Science and UGM,” he concluded.
