Muhammad Zaky Putra Pramudya, an undergraduate student of the Faculty of Animal Science, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Animal Science UGM), participated in the Summer Enrichment Program (SEP) at the University of Eastern Philippines last July and August.
His participation in the program came upon invitation from the Asian Association of Agricultural Colleges and Universities (AAACU).
The SEP is a summer program designed for students in the field of agriculture, aimed at deepening knowledge and exchanging insights on technological advancements in agriculture achieved by each participating country.
“This participation was a great opportunity to broaden my understanding and perspective on agricultural innovation, as well as to expand international networks,” said Pramudya on Monday, Sep. 8, 2025.
Pramudya explained that throughout the program, all activities were directly guided by lecturers from the University of Eastern Philippines.
The students were required to participate in both theoretical lectures and practical fieldwork in agriculture, including learning climate change adaptation techniques in the Philippines, attending presentations on various agricultural technology prototypes developed by UEP students, and experiencing introductions to diverse aspects of Filipino culture.
According to Pramudya, this annual program offers a valuable opportunity for students to exchange ideas on agricultural innovations.
In addition, participants also had the chance to introduce their own local cultures to other international delegates.
“After joining this SEP program, I feel motivated to apply the knowledge I have gained for the advancement of the agricultural sector in Indonesia,” he said.
