
Pertamina has awarded the “5 Years of Impact Award” to 11 top universities from the Pertamuda Program 2021-2024. The award was presented during the launch of the 2025 Pertamina Goes To Campus (PGTC) program at Grha Pertamina in Jakarta.
The eleven universities honored are Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), UPN Veteran Yogyakarta, Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Sebelas Maret, and the Electronics Engineering Polytechnic Institute of Surabaya.
Pertamuda is a student business idea competition initiated by Pertamina to expand the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and foster innovation in the energy sector.
It also aims to boost the growth of startups in Indonesia by providing them with access to funding.
The program is open to all active university students across Indonesia.
Pertamina Vice-President Director, Oki Muraza, explained that the 5 Years of Impact Award is part of the Special Edition of Pertamuda Seed and Scale 2025.
Now in its fifth year, PT Pertamina (Persero) presented this special recognition to 11 universities whose students consistently ranked in the Top 3 of Pertamuda from 2021 to 2024, contributing significantly to the program’s success.
He also called on all academic stakeholders, Pertamina’s partners on campuses, and students to actively contribute solutions for Indonesia’s energy future.
“Hopefully, in time, we will see the emergence of energy talents who will carry forward our mission in leading Indonesia’s energy sector,” said Vice-President Director Muraza.
In the Pertamuda competition, startups from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), which are Gepo Energy, Enova, MetaSeaco, Edus.id, and Zona Farm, achieved outstanding accomplishments.
Gepo Energy is a startup from the UGM Faculty of Engineering (FT UGM) that innovates in the energy sector with solar panel tile installations.
ENOVA, founded by students of the same faculty, focuses on the research and development of IT and IoT-based products and services.
Meanwhile, MetaSeaco has developed portable solar-powered cooling technology for conventional boats in the marine sector.
Edus.ID, founded by students from the UGM Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol UGM), has successfully developed a digital education platform.
Zona Farm, founded by students from the UGM Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA UGM), focuses on applying IoT and AI technologies to revolutionize the poultry farming industry.
“The management and entrepreneurial development of UGM’s startups are handled by the Directorate of Student Affairs, while the incubation process is carried out by the Innovative Academy under the coordination of UGM Science Techno Park (STP UGM),” said Dr. Hempri Suyatna, Acting Director of Student Affairs at UGM, on Friday, Jul. 25, 2025.
Pertamina Corporate Secretary, Arya Dwi Paramita, noted that 2025 marks the fifth year of the Pertamuda Seed and Scale competition.
She stated that the program has become one of the largest and most consistent student entrepreneurship competitions in Indonesia.
“Since 2021, over 10,000 participants from 696 universities have taken part. Of these, 140 finalists advanced to the demo day stage and received a total development fund of IDR 1.6 billion. More than just a competition, Pertamuda has given rise to tangible new initiatives by the younger generation,” Paramita explained.
Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Vice-President of Corporate Communication at Pertamina, added that PGTC is Pertamina’s annual program designed to empower the younger generation in tackling sustainable energy challenges.
“Through the PGTC program, Pertamina has created a positive impact, inspiring young people to excel through innovation and creative works,” he added.
