The UGM Alumni Family (KAGAMA) in Riau, in collaboration with the Riau Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team, organized a social service event on Sunday (November 26) in the courtyard of the Riau Social Affairs Office.
The Secretary of the KAGAMA Riau Regional Board, Dr. Arifudin, accompanied by the chair of the committee, Heri Yanto, explained that the activities were combined with mass gymnastics, blood donation, health services, and counseling on stunting, osteoporosis, and family planning.
“Besides enlivening UGM’s 74th anniversary, we hope this activity supports the government’s program in reducing stunting,” said Dr. Arifudin.
According to him, blood donation is KAGAMA Riau’s annual activity, in line with its motto, which emphasizes togetherness and harmony. The organizing committee also thanked the acceleration team for the collaboration.
The Secretary of the Riau Stunting Reduction Acceleration Team, Fariza, said the stunting rate in Riau is at 17%, and their reduction goal is 14%, following the national target.
“Thank you to KAGAMA Riau for the collaboration; hopefully, we can continue collaborating for public health, especially in addressing stunting, and many children in Riau can study at UGM,” Fariza said.
