Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has opened admissions for new students through the International Undergraduate Program (IUP).
The admission process for this pathway, which has a quota of 1,114 students across 29 study programs, will be divided into three phases.
Phase 1 registration will be open from Feb. 14 to 18, 2025, followed by an offline exam held from Feb. 27 to Mar. 2. The results will be announced on Mar. 6, 2025.
The Secretary of the UGM Directorate of Education and Teaching, Dr. Sigit Priyanta, stated that the IUP allows students to achieve competitive excellence through a rigorous selection system.
“We want to ensure that every student who passes is the best individual capable of contributing globally,” he explained on Monday (Jan. 27).
Dr. Priyanta hopes prospective students interested in enrolling at UGM through this international class can access information about the IUP pathway, understand the registration procedures, and prepare thoroughly.
“Further information regarding the 2025 IUP enrollment at UGM can be accessed through the official UGM website or the university’s social media accounts,” he said.
According to Dr. Priyanta, one advantage of the IUP pathway is its ability to prepare competent graduates who can compete globally.
“IUP is designed to provide an internationally based learning experience, including mandatory international exposure such as student exchange or double degree programs,” he added.
Prospective students for the IUP must be recent high school graduates or equivalent with a diploma.
They must also have good English proficiency (TOEFL score of 500-550 or equivalent), pass the Gadjah Mada Scholastic Test (GMST), and be willing to undergo further selection based on the chosen study program.
The selection process is divided into two categories based on the study program. For the Faculty of Engineering (FT UGM), the selection process uses report card scores, UTBK scores, CBT scores, and proof of English proficiency.
Meanwhile, the selection process for programs outside FT UGM uses English and scholastic tests (AcEPT and GMST).
The 29 study programs at UGM offering the IUP pathway include Biology, Accounting, Management, Economics, Pharmacy, Environmental Geography, Veterinary Medicine, Law, International Relations, Communication Studies, Public Policy and Management, Medicine, and Psychology.
The IUP is also available in Civil Infrastructure Management Technology, Statistics, Electronics and Instrumentation, Computer Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Animal Science and Industry, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Geodetic Engineering, Geological Engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, and Urban and Regional Planning.
