
Following a hearing with the Team for the Defense of Ulama and Activists (TPUA) regarding clarification of Joko Widodo’s undergraduate diploma, which was held on Tuesday (Apr. 15) at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), three TPUA representatives, Roy Suryo, Rismon Sianipar, and Dr. Tifa, met directly with UGM’s Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, Professor Wening Udasmoro; Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni; Dr. Arie Sujito; University Secretary Dr. Andi Sandi Antonius Tabusassa Tonralipu; Dean of the Faculty of Forestry Dr. Sigit Sunarta; and Chair of the Faculty Senate, Professor San Afri Awang.
During the meeting, Universitas Gadjah Mada confirmed that Joko Widodo is an alumnus of the Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
He completed the full course of study, which began in 1980 under student registration number 80/34416/KT/1681, and graduated on Nov. 5, 1985.
UGM is not involved in the conflict of interest between the Team for the Defense of Ulama and Activists (TPUA) and Joko Widodo. As a public institution within Indonesia’s higher education system, UGM is bound by laws and regulations regarding personal data protection and public information disclosure.
Therefore, UGM is only willing to disclose publicly accessible data, while personal data will only be released upon formal request by law enforcement authorities.
