Universitas Gadjah Mada Academic Hospital (RSA UGM) celebrated its 13th anniversary on Friday, Apr. 11, 2025.
As part of its 13th anniversary, the hospital held a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction for its new Private Wing, Cardiology, and Oncology buildings.
The new buildings reflect RSA UGM’s commitment as an academic-based hospital.
In his remarks, RSA UGM President Director Dr. Darwito expressed his gratitude to all staff and healthcare workers who have supported the hospital over the past 13 years in delivering quality care to the public.
He invited all health professionals and stakeholders to support the government’s healthcare programs, particularly those under BPJS Kesehatan.
RSA UGM has been serving BPJS Kesehatan patients since 2014.
“Let us work together to support government programs so we can progress together,” he said.
UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia also attended the anniversary celebration.
On the occasion, she expressed appreciation for RSA UGM’s strategic steps in developing cardiology and oncology services.
She emphasized that innovation and transformation are key to addressing the increasing complexity of future societal challenges.
“The complexity of future society is a shared responsibility. Hospitals must consolidate and remain sensitive to external issues,” the rector stated.
As an academic-based hospital, RSA UGM collaborates closely with UGM to develop health-related innovations and technologies.
Academic hospitals are also expected to respond to challenges with effective solutions, including ensuring the availability of medical equipment and medications.
This supports RSA UGM’s designation by the Ministry of Health as an academic referral hospital.
RSA UGM signed cooperation agreements with several external partners during the anniversary celebration.
These partnerships aim to support RSA UGM’s role in providing health tourism services.
Rector Emilia also extended her appreciation to the board of directors, hospital staff, and all partners who have contributed to RSA UGM’s growth and development.
“We hope that RSA UGM will continue to grow and become a leading, responsive, and innovative healthcare provider for the community,” she concluded.
