The demand for assessors continues to grow as the need for competent and professional assessors in their respective fields increases. Responding to this challenge, Universitas Gadjah Mada Professional Certification Institute (LSP UGM) once again organized the Competency Assessor Training and Certification on Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at the UGM University Club.
UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia stated that LSP UGM is not merely an institution that produces assessors, but also plays a vital role in producing individuals who can be competitive in the job market.
Thus, such programs are conducted to develop competencies that support productivity and competitiveness in the workforce.
“The need for certification has become a priority for institutions as it responds to the demands of the job market. Therefore, we continuously adjust and review the curriculum to keep pace with what is needed,” the rector said.

Chair of the National Professional Certification Board (BNSP), Syamsi Hari, explained that the demand for assessors is currently increasing.
Certification assessors are individuals with the qualifications and authority to carry out competency assessments.
Their role is to ensure that the assessed individuals meet the competencies established by the LSP, after which they are granted official certification.
Chair Hari further noted that several companies have now implemented mandatory certification, which offers various benefits such as recognition of a person’s capabilities and enhanced opportunities in the job market.
He also expressed his appreciation to LSP UGM for supporting the implementation of this training.
With training conducted in accordance with BNSP guidelines, LSP UGM is expected to become a leading institution in meeting the need for competent human resources, both for industry and other sectors.
This program is intended for 45 participants in the second batch and runs for four days from 6-10 August. This is the second round of the training, following the first batch held from Jul. 30 to Aug. 3.
