Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Professor Ova Emilia, officially sent off the UGM contingent competing in the 38th National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) hosted by Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar. The 38th PIMNAS delegation consisted of 64 students, supervising lecturers, and supporting staff. The send-off ceremony was held at the Auditorium of the UGM Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK UGM) on Friday afternoon (Nov. 21).
Addressing the 64 student participants of the 38th PIMNAS, the rector extended her encouragement as they strive for the best achievements in this prestigious national-level student competition.
She also expressed her deep appreciation to all members of the UGM delegation who have gone through a long and rigorous process to earn the honor of representing Universitas Gadjah Mada at the 38th PIMNAS at Universitas Hasanuddin in Makassar.
“Members of the 38th PIMNAS contingent, each of you has been selected and entrusted with a responsibility. Carry this trust on your shoulders with discipline, perseverance, and resilience. Continue to give your best until the very end in order to bring pride to our alma mater, Universitas Gadjah Mada,” Professor Emilia said.
Encouraging the UGM contingent, Professor Emilia urged the students to invest their full energy and effort in achieving excellence. In her message, she reminded them not to tire or give up.
“Prepare your best physical and mental condition to face this competition and achieve optimal results. And do not forget to draw closer to God Almighty so that you may be granted strength, health, ease, and protection from various challenges and obstacles,” the rector advised.

The rector noted that UGM has achieved remarkable success by securing the overall championship title at PIMNAS six times since 2014, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and most recently in 2023.
She emphasized that this accomplishment is not merely an institutional achievement, but a reflection of strong collaboration among lecturers, students, and support teams.
“That is what I wish to highlight once again. To the entire UGM contingent, please maintain your health and stamina, stay motivated, and fight with unwavering determination to win. My gratitude also goes to all supervising lecturers, accompanying lecturers, and the support teams who have assisted in preparing for the 38th PIMNAS,” she added.
In his report, UGM Director of Student Affairs, Dr. Hempri Suyatna, stated that UGM is sending 64 student delegates, 12 accompanying lecturers, 26 supervising lecturers, and a support team from the Directorate of Student Affairs to the 38th PIMNAS at Universitas Hasanuddin, scheduled for Nov. 23 to 28, 2025.
A series of preparatory activities has been carried out, including the Poster Workshop, Public Speaking and Presentation Techniques Workshop, Social Media Workshop in collaboration with the UGM Public Relations Office, and the Ethical Clearance Workshop in collaboration with FK-KMK UGM.
Additional activities included Intellectual Property Rights Training with UGM Intellectual Property Management Office (IPMO UGM), Consultation Sessions with Supervising Lecturers, and Presentation Simulations.
“We also held the Assessment of PKM Implementation Progress (PKP2) on Oct. 19 to 24, and the Bootcamp on Nov. 15 to 16, 2025,” Dr. Suyatna said.
The director also reported that in 2025, UGM was recognized as the Higher Education Institution with the Best Student Creativity Program (PKM) Mentorship in Cluster I. UGM was named the most productive university in the 2025 PKM Funding Scheme for Cluster I, as well as the most productive university in the 2025 PKM Incentive Scheme for Cluster I.
“We were also recognized as having the most informative PKM student output in 2025, and we won the award for the Best Written Futuristic Idea PKM Group in 2025,” he added.
