Universitas Gadjah Mada and PT Bank Mandiri Taspen (Mantap) have officially renewed their strategic partnership in banking products and services as well as human resource development. The agreement was signed by the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada, Professor Ova Emilia, and the President Director of PT Bank Mandiri Taspen (Mantap), Panji Irawan, in the Leadership Meeting Room of the UGM Central Office Building on Friday (Apr. 10).
Professor Ova Emilia expressed appreciation for the partnership established over the past 10 years, since 2016. According to her, the continuation of this collaboration demonstrates strong synergy between the two institutions.
“We would like to thank Bank Mantap for its trust and collaboration since 2016. Over this long period, we have achieved many things together. Many banks partner with us; however, Bank Mantap’s focus on preparing individuals up to retirement makes it unique and a distinct strength,” she said.
In addition to banking services, Professor Ova also welcomed opportunities for collaboration in education and more flexible human resource development. She explained that UGM’s learning model has become increasingly adaptive for professionals.
“Attending campus activities will no longer interfere with work. While it previously required full-time presence on campus, the current learning model is more flexible, benefiting both parties,” she noted.

President Director of PT Bank Mandiri Taspen (Mantap), Panji Irawan, stated that the company views UGM not merely as an educational institution, but as an innovation incubator and a producer of the nation’s top talent. He explained that Bank Mantap’s vision aligns with the activities of UGM’s academic community, namely to create prosperity through banking products focused on the needs of retirees and MSME actors.
“Through this collaboration, we aim to integrate the potential of both parties in institutional development, as well as the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education through the provision of competent banking services,” he said.
In its implementation, Bank Mantap offers inclusive educational programs and pre-retirement preparation initiatives. These include various productive entrepreneurship packages and investment options, such as bond coupons, for those who wish to remain engaged in research activities.

In addition, the collaboration will also cover career development aspects for students through the Kampus Merdeka program, scholarships, and opportunities for bank employees to pursue postgraduate studies at UGM, as part of reciprocal knowledge transfer and joint research. Panji expressed hope that this synergy would help make UGM’s operations more efficient while contributing to the realization of the Indonesia Emas vision.
“We hope this strategic partnership will have a meaningful impact, improve human resource management quality, and provide significant benefits for all of us,” he concluded.
