Universitas Gadjah Mada Residences as the management of UGM Students Dormitory, Wisdom Park, and Grha Sabha Pramana is entering the 9th age in 2017. In order to celebrate its anniversary, UGM Residences held a yearly agenda, namely UGM Residences Fair 2017. This year, the agenda entitled 9th UGM Residences, Cultural Harmony Towards the Glory of Nusantara consisted of a series of events, including Sports Week, Cultural Festival, Family Gathering, and Residences Night.

Residences Night was the peak event of UGM Residences Fair which was the first time to be held in this year. It was held at Amphitheater Wisdom Park UGM on Sunday (14/5). It aimed to introduce Wisdom Park UGM towards UGM academic community and wider public as a place which is educative, explorative, inspiring, as well as collaborative for its visitors.

Several performances were shown during Residences Night, starting with poem reading, suling play (traditional music instrument made from bamboo), performance of Padamu Band. Several performances by UGM students who live in the dormitory also enlivened the event. Head of event committee, Arif, hopes this event can be made a yearly agenda to introduce the Wisdom Park to UGM academic community and the wider community.

Meanwhile, UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Dwikorita Karnawati, M.Sc., Ph.D., hopes the Wisdom Park can encourage UGM students potency. “We hope Wisdom Park can give opportunities for the students to deliver their creativities,” said Dwikorita.

Dwikorita said Wisdom Park can be utilized by all academic members of UGM, including the students. “Wisdom Park UGM is not only a place for recreation but also a facilitation to maintain the environmental sustainability,” she added.
