UGM always encourages its teaching staffs and researchers to act more in international forums by giving data for journal publication and research results presentation. It is hoped that the research result can benefit the society.
The Senior Rector Deputy for Education, Research and Society Services (P3M) Prof Retno Sunarminingsih Sudibyo on Wednesday (26/11) conveyed this when she opened the Workshop on Scientific Writing for International Journals in Multimedia room.
Researches conducted by researchers should be introduced to the world, and submitting it to scientific journals is a way to achieve it. Therefore the rules and guidance of scientific paper writing is needed.
The head of the organizing committee Dr Wisnu Nurcahyo explained that the workshop was conducted for three days, 26-28 November 2008. Several resource persons presented at the workshop are Prof Bambang Suhendro, Prof Y Andi Trisyono, Prof Mudrajat Kuncoro and Prof Soenarto Sastrowijoto. They are accompanied by Prof Mudasir and Prof Juari Santosa (Cluster Engineering and Science), Zullies Ekawati PhD (Cluster Medical and Health), Dr Kwartarini W Yulianti (Cluster Sosial and Humaniora), Dr Retno Indriati (Cluster Adriculture) and English Expert by Dr FX Nadar and Adi Sutrisno MA.
"This workshop is done to improve the writing skills for teaching staffs and researchers in universities, particularly in UGM," he explained.
