Rita Yulianti, S.IP., the librarian of Faculty of Engineering UGM was selected the best librarian at UGM. Meanwhile, the second and third winners were the librarians of UGM Central Library, namely Y. Paidjo, S.IP., and Dewi Widianingsih, A.Md. The award was given on Thursday (15/3) at the University Club (UC) UGM.
The selection was followed by 19 librarians of UGM. The participants were screened in three stages, namely administrative selection, focus group discussion (FGD) and presentation of the basic tasks and functions of each participant, Presentation papers are on the theme Librarian’s Competency and Existence in the Future. Sri Rumani, S.H, S. IP, M.Sc., chairman of the jury, said of the 19 librarians who registered, only one person did not pass the administrative selection. Meanwhile, the 18 librarians who passed the selection of administrative presented their main duties and functions before the jury and conducted the FGD. The top five were selected to present their papers. "Eventually, we chose Rita Yulianti as the best for her innovative ideas," she explained. Rita Yulianti admitted that she was quite surprised becoming the best librarian at UGM. "I was shocked and did not think I could be the best. Going forward I will keep trying to improve my performance to be better than now," she said. |
