Dea Rachma Chaerani, commonly known as Dea, is a content creator focusing on job-related content, particularly for fresh graduates looking to start their careers in Australia. Dea graduated from the Travel Business program at the UGM Vocational College (SV UGM) in 2023.
During her studies, Dea was known as an active and high-achieving student, participating in and winning many competitions. In addition to her outstanding academic achievements, Dea had already begun her career journey while still in college.
“In March 2020, I started my professional journey with an internship as a sales administrator at one of the international hotel chains, Grand Mercure Surabaya. After that, from December 2021 to May 2023, I continued my career as a Guest Relations Officer at Hotel Tentrem, Yogyakarta,” she said.
There, she gained more experience in the hospitality industry and honed her guest handling and hotel operations management skills.
The year 2023 marked a significant turning point for Dea.
“I decided to expand my career scope to Australia as a guest service agent at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Perth,” Dea recalled.
Not content to stay in her comfort zone, Dea also began developing herself as a content creator. Through her Instagram account, Dea successfully attracted 73.3 thousand followers.
Working in Australia did not make Dea forget her contributions to Indonesia. In 2023, Dea participated as a flag bearer at the 78th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia.
Even while succeeding in her career abroad, she actively provides educational content focusing on guidance and tips for those interested in working abroad, especially in Australia.
Dea uses her experience to help others who want to start and succeed in their careers in other countries. She also provides insights into professional life in Australia.
Through her hospitality work and content creation, Dea has significantly contributed to achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8, which focuses on decent work, youth employment, and economic growth.
The content she creates guides fresh graduates seeking job opportunities abroad and highlights the importance of fair wages, decent working conditions, and equal job opportunities for young people, thereby supporting inclusive and sustainable economic growth.
