Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with one of China’s leading universities, the Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA).
For the signing conducted at NUAA, China, UGM was represented by its Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, Professor Wening Udasmoro, and NUAA was represented by its Vice President, Professor Shi Daning.
Professor Tumiran and Professor Deendarlianto from the Faculty of Engineering accompanied Professor Udasmoro through the visit that will last until September 28, 2023.
Besides the signing ceremony, NUAA also presented the Visiting Professor awards to Professor Tumiran and Professor Deendarlianto.
“There were discussions about the possibility of collaboration in other fields, such as social humanities,” said Professor Udasmoro on Monday (September 25).
The UGM Vice-Rector emphasized that this collaboration has strategic aspects, especially in academic cooperation and the enhancement of research collaboration in mechanical and electrical engineering, particularly in energy and healthcare products.
“It goes beyond that. Additionally, there is communication with other campuses, specifically the College of International Education and Jiangsu University of Technology. They both have a similar interest in these areas,” she added.
Present at the meeting from NUAA were the Vice President of NUAA, Professor Shi Daning; the Dean of the College of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering, Professor Fu Yucan; a professor of mechanical engineering, Professor Yao; Director of the International Cooperation Office, Professor Zuo Zhang; and the Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office.
