
Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Professor Ova Emilia stated that UGM, as the first university established by the Indonesian Government, consistently expects its graduates to become individuals of integrity, with strong moral character and competitiveness in facing future challenges.
“It is certainly our collective hope that all UGM graduates will always have the perspective of future leaders with new paradigms, ideas, and innovative works that are able to optimize their professional roles,” said Rector Emilia during the third day of the Undergraduate and Applied Undergraduate Graduation Ceremony for the Academic Year 2024/2025, held on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2025, at Grha Sabha Pramana.
On the third day of the graduation ceremony, UGM conferred degrees on 1,339 out of 3,664 graduates, consisting of 825 undergraduates from five faculties: Pharmacy, Economics and Business, Agricultural Technology, and Animal Science.
Meanwhile, the other 514 graduates were Applied Undergraduate students from the UGM Vocational College (SV UGM).
Anton Mart Irianto, Chair of the UGM Alumni Family in DKI Jakarta (Kagama DKI Jakarta), expressed his hope that UGM graduates will be able to contribute to the job market both in Indonesia and abroad.
He believed that the graduates had been enlightened by knowledge and would continue to have opportunities to explore, grow, and develop.
“For more than 60 years, Kagama has proven itself and continues to foster a spirit of kinship among alumni. This is important for expanding our professional interests, broadening the reach and impact of our work and enterprises, as well as for the good name of our beloved alma mater,” said Irianto.
At this graduation, the average study period for undergraduate students was 4 years and 2 months, with the fastest completion achieved by five graduates who finished in 3 years and 8 months.
The average age of undergraduate graduates was 22 years and 6 months, with the youngest at 20 years and 5 months.
Meanwhile, the average study period for the Applied Undergraduate program was 4 years, with the fastest completion achieved by Rendra Nandira Widriati from the Public Sector Accounting Program, Department of Economics and Business, SV UGM, who finished in 3 years and 8 months.
The average age of Applied Undergraduate graduates was 22 years and 6 months, with the youngest graduate, Abdul Aziz, from the Electrical Engineering Technology Program, being 21 years and 1 month old.
The average GPA for undergraduate graduates in this period was 3.59. A total of 2,224 graduates, or 70.60 percent, graduated with honors.
Meanwhile, the average GPA for Applied Undergraduate graduates in this period was 3.68, with 83.4 percent graduating with honors.
The highest GPA among Applied Undergraduate graduates was achieved by Avellyn Yoan Wiratan from the Agroindustry Product Development Program, SV UGM, with a GPA of 3.96.
