Universitas Gadjah Mada inaugurated nine new officials and this was conducted by Senior Vice Rector for Administrative, Finance, and Human Resources Development, Prof. Ainun Na'im, Ph.D., taking place at the Multimedia Room, Wednesday (16/12).

The new nine officials were Basuki, S.I.P. as Head of Sub-directorate for Administrative and Student Affairs Development, Directorate of Student Affairs; Yukhron Fathoni, S.H.,S.Sos as Head of Administrative Office of Faculty of Cultural Sciences; Bambang Sunarto, S.H., as Head of Administrative Office of Faculty of Pharmacy and Drs. H. Wiyono as Head of Administrative Office of Faculty of Biology.

Also inaugurated were Suharyanta, S.E, as Head of Sub-directorate of Development and Academic Performance Program, Research and Community Service in the Directorate of Planning and Development; Yuliani Lestari, B.Sc., as Section Head of Government’s Budget in the Directorate of Finance; Rusdadi Yunus,S.E., M.Si., as Head of Academic Section in Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Hesti Arumawati, S.E. as Section Head of Management Accounting in the Directorate of Finance, and Sunu Widodo, S.Sos., as Head of Financial and General Administration in Faculty of Philosophy.

For several units, that change certainly created uncomfortable feeling. The inauguration, however, should be done to create a better condition for UGM in the future. He said that UGM always faces greater challenges from year to year. As a major university, UGM can not be separated from problems, particularly those related to continuous service improvement for community and academic community. “Recently, ISO certifications for several UGM units have been done. Improvement is needed continuously." said this former Dean of Economics and Business Faculty at UGM Central Office.

Ainun explained that there were only six of hundreds proposals from units being selected. The six units were hoped to be stimulant for others. “Other than through certification, we still improve the quality of units, because quality assurance is also needed by Faculties, which we hope will be overall; therefore, our service to society will meet the high standard. This absolutely needs our hard work and cooperation,” he added.
