Yogyakarta – A series of events of the 65th Anniversary of Faculty of Law UGM under the theme Ideal of State of Law started with Open Senate Assembly on 17 February 2011. In the assembly which will be led by Chairman of Senate of Faculty of Law UGM, Prof. Dr. Sudjito, S.H, M.Si., Dean, Prof. Dr. Marsudi Triatmodjo, S.H., LL.M., will deliver Report of Faculty of Law UGM about the achievements made by the Faculty in year 2010 and the past five years. Besides, it will also deliver scientific oration dealing with ideal of country of law by Prof. Dr. Moh. Mahfud M.D., S.H., S.U.
Workshop on Curriculum Renewal of Faculty of Law UGM will also be held on 17 February 2011. The event with facilitator Dr. Sigit Riyanto, S.H., LL.M., and involves lecturers, heads and secretaries of department, alumni, related institutions, and stakeholders will review the existing curriculum and determine new curriculum based on competence.
Ideal of State of Law meeting on 18 February 2011 will be preceded with introduction from Dr. Bambang Kesowo, S.H., LL.M and will be moderated by Fajrul Falaakh, S.H., M.A., M.Sc. The event will also be followed by economists, technocrats, and culturalists. The meeting aims to explore and identify ideas about state of law from many disciplines.
Furthermore, social works will be conducted on the same date, including handover of aids for survivors of Merapi eruption, making visit to care for professors of Law and remember UGM founding fathers in Sawitsari graveyard and planting 500 golden teak trees in Hargobinangun Village, Pakem, Sleman by Dean of the Faculty and artist, Iwan Fals.
A bazaar displaying many Jogja’s products entitled “Tamba Kangen” and exposition of students’ works will be held at parking lot of the Faculty starting from 17-19 February. Sport activities with lecturers, academic staff and alumni will be held on 19 February 2011, which will include poco-poco gymnastics, volleyball match, and bakiak run.
An integrated career center for students and career developers for alumni of the Faculty, Law Career Development Center (LCDC) FH-UGM will also be launched on 19 February 2011. The center which can be accessed at http://www.law.ugm.ac.id is formed to prepare alumni to be more prepared to face stronger working competition as well as media link and connector between alumni and users who need them.
Previously, alumni meeting was held on 10 February 2011. As peak of anniversary on 19 February 2011 a concert will be held, called Justice for Indonesia with Love presenting Iwan Fals & Indonesia Wind Orchestra (IWO) at the yard of UGM Hall.
