UGM Center for Pancasila Studies received a visit from a group called Forum for Pancasila and Indonesia’s Civics Studies of Semarang District, Thursday (29/12). The delegation led by Triyono was received by the Head of the Center, Drs. Sindung Tjahyadi, M. Hum, Chairman of the Expert Team, Prof. Dr. Sutaryo, SP.A (K), and Coordinator for Research and Community Service, Heri Santoso, M. Hum.

Triyono said their visit is to find partners to unravel the root causes of the nation and state’s problem. Since the establishment of the forum in 1995, they have had concerns of where to complain about the condition of this nation.

"After we heard the existence of Center for Pancasila Studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada about 3 months ago, we wanted to see and share our concerns on conditions of this nation," he explained.

Triyono said that currently the Indonesian state is in a condition of uncertainties. Amid the various problems that plagued the nation, the ideology of Pancasila as the spirit of nationhood has been increasingly abandoned by state administrators. Indonesia and its vision seem to be castrated and kept away from its people.

"Pancasila has been at loss and surrounded by the ideology of capitalism and liberalism. Therefore, the Semarang community expects the UGM Center for Pancasila Studies to become the guardian of Pancasila, to formulate fundamental criteria in appointing leaders, right from the head of state down to village chiefs," he said.
