The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) is exploring research collaborations with the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Australia.
The discussions around this potential collaboration emerged during RMIT’s visit to FEB UGM on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at the Kertanegara Room, FEB UGM.
The RMIT delegation, led by Professor Yuli Suseno, Deputy Dean of Teaching and Learning at the School of Management, was welcomed by Dr. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Vice Dean of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni at FEB UGM.
Dr. Sahadewo expressed that this collaboration opens doors for future research partnerships and other areas of cooperation.
“I hope this visit marks the beginning of broader collaborations in the future, especially for FEB UGM,” he stated Tuesday (Oct. 15).
Dr. Sahadewo mentioned that the number of publications at FEB UGM had significantly increased by 25 percent over the past year.
Therefore, he hopes that RMIT’s visit will serve as an opportunity for mutual knowledge-sharing regarding the latest research from each institution’s researchers.
“Through this visit, we also hope it becomes a platform for us to learn from each other about new research being conducted by our researchers,” Dr. Sahadewo added.
During the visit, the general research agendas of RMIT, FEB UGM, and UGM’s Vocational College (SV UGM) were presented. Each institution provided an overview of its research, collaborations with other institutions, and areas of potential overlap.
One such overlap is the shared focus on digital technology and cryptocurrency research between FEB UGM and RMIT. Additionally, FEB UGM introduced a new concentration in its MM Program, Sustainability Management, launched this semester.
The visit also featured two research presentation panels. The first panel focused on digital entrepreneurship and human management, while the second panel centered on digital marketing and transformation, technology, and the digital economy.
After the research presentations, there was a forum discussion and Q&A session on research, followed by a networking and sandwich discussion.
