Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is once again offering opportunities for prospective healthcare professionals through the International Undergraduate Program (IUP).
The IUP is available for new applicants interested in pursuing their studies at the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing (FK-KMK UGM), Faculty of Dentistry (FKG UGM), and the Faculty of Pharmacy (Pharmacy UGM). The IUP offers several advantages in preparing future healthcare professionals on an international scale through modern curricula.
It is important to note that the quota for applicants admitted through the IUP pathway is 1,114 prospective students across 29 study programs. The admission process through this pathway is divided into three batches. Currently, registration for the second batch will close on February 28. The test will be conducted online from May 7 to 9.
Head of the Medical Study Program at FK-KMK UGM, Professor Eggi Arguni, stated that the IUP at FK-KMK offers a curriculum designed to produce graduates who are professional, adaptive, and humanistic. The learning system has adopted problem-based learning, enabling students to gain in-depth learning experiences through optimal problem-solving.
“IUP students from FK-KMK will have the opportunity to take elective courses at overseas universities,” Professor Arguni said on Sunday (Apr. 26).
She also reminded applicants of a specific requirement: they must not be color blind.
“Carefully read the registration requirements and ensure they match what is requested so they can be verified for the next stage,” she advised.
Professor Arguni further emphasized the importance of maintaining good health and paying close attention to examination schedules and locations. For international classes, English is the primary language of instruction.
As a relatively new program, the IUP at FKG UGM has only been running since 2025. Head of the Dentistry Study Program, Dr. Aryan Morita, explained that the main advantage of the IUP at FKG is that students can design their own international experience by visiting partner universities. Learning interactions are also designed to be more intensive.
“We are grateful that in the first and second batches, enthusiasm from prospective applicants has been very high,” she explained.
Meanwhile, IUP Program Coordinator for the Undergraduate Pharmacy Study Program, Dr. Adhyatmika, explained that all classroom instruction for the IUP at the Faculty of Pharmacy is delivered in English. IUP Pharmacy students have opportunities to participate in international competitions and in an international conference scheduled for 2026. Dr. Adhyatmika encouraged prospective applicants to be confident about their choice.
“It would be best if applicants already have a clear vision when applying, so once accepted, they can fully commit to the program,” he concluded.
With UGM’s long-standing reputation for excellence at both national and international levels, the opening of IUP registration in the health cluster presents a golden opportunity for prospective students. Complete information on schedules, requirements, fees, and selection procedures is available directly on the official UGM admissions page. Be sure to read all instructions carefully before submitting documents. Physical and mental preparation should begin now.
