The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held an alumni gathering in Palembang, South Sumatra.
The FEB UGM Sharing Session and Alumni Gathering event took place at the Aryaduta Hotel Ballroom, Palembang, on Friday (Apr. 11).
The activity also introduced the public, particularly alumni and prospective students, to FEB UGM’s graduate programs.
Dr. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni, stated that the alumni gathering was a way to share the latest developments at FEB UGM.
He expressed hope that alumni could contribute to these developments.
“FEB UGM offers 14 study programs across undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels and is organized into three departments: Accounting, Economics, and Management. Among our graduate programs are the Master of Business Administration, Master of Accounting, Master of Development Economics, and the Master of Science and Doctoral programs,” he explained.
Professor Tandelilin Eduardus, Head of the Master of Business Administration Program at the Jakarta Campus, added that the program is open to all Universitas Gadjah Mada alumni.
“Here in Palembang, we also have the Gadjah Mada Alumni Family (Kagama), who are present with us today. We refer to alumni as ‘family’ rather than just a ‘network’ because family feels closer than a mere affiliation,” he added.
Meanwhile, Professor Amin Wibowo, Head of the Master of Business Administration Program at the Yogyakarta Campus, noted that UGM students come from various regions across Indonesia.
He hoped that more young people from South Sumatra would choose to study at UGM.
“We hope future generations from all educational backgrounds will contribute to Indonesia’s development. At UGM, we maintain a structured educational process to produce competent graduates and uphold strong integrity,” he said.
