The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FKH UGM) has operated the Professor Soeparwi Veterinary Hospital (RSH Professor Soeparwi) since its establishment in 2009.
In addition to serving as a center for community service, the hospital also functions as a referral hospital, a teaching hospital, and a facility to train future professional veterinarians.
UGM Vice-Rector for Research, Business Development, and Partnerships, Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, and President Director of PT Pagilaran, Hadianto Djoko Djuliarso, paid a working visit to RSH Professor Soeparwi on Friday (May 2) to observe the hospital’s development and facilities in greater detail.
Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko expressed his appreciation for the hospital’s presence and its well-equipped facilities. He remarked that the visit encouraged discussions on further development of UGM’s Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Hadmoko praised the hospital’s infrastructure and its professional staff.
“Many veterinarians are actively involved here. This condition certainly sparks interest from Pagilaran to explore potential collaborations,” he stated.
During the visit, the Acting Director of RSH Professor Soeparwi Dyah Kunthi Wirapratiwi, provided an overview of the hospital’s examination rooms and facilities.
Starting from the registration desk, the visitors were shown various rooms, including the emergency room, treatment room, X-ray room, grooming room, cardiac stent installation room, and anesthesia and surgery rooms.
The Dean of FKH UGM, Professor Teguh Budipitojo, expressed his appreciation for the attention of the university leadership and PT Pagilaran.
With the progress made so far, he hopes RSH Professor Soeparwi can evolve into a referral center for communities in Yogyakarta, Central Java, and throughout Indonesia. Currently, the hospital mainly serves patients from Yogyakarta and Central Java.
“We want RSH Professor Soeparwi to become a beacon in veterinary care in Indonesia, particularly in advancing national animal health,” explained Professor Budipitojo.
Dedi Kuntoro, Director of General Affairs and Finance at PT Pagilaran, noted that RSH Professor Soeparwi is the most well-equipped veterinary hospital in Yogyakarta and the surrounding Central Java region.
After a brief tour of the emergency and treatment rooms, he shared his hopes for the hospital’s continued growth.
“Beyond education and research, this hospital has the potential to generate profit and support future development,” he remarked.
