UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M.Eng, Ph,D., inaugurated the building of Academic Administration Services located at Pancasila Street, Bulaksumur, Sunday (19/12). Attending the event were Senior Vice Rector of Academic, Research and Community Service, Senior Vice Rector of Alumni and Business Development, Director of Academic Administration and UGM leadership.
The building will be used by Directorate of Academic Administration to serve new student admission and diploma and undergraduate student registration. It is also used to serve student admission, registration and academic administration services for graduate students.
Previously, all of those were centered at directorate of academic administration in 1st Floor South Wing of UGM Main Building. “This new building is expected to serve all matters dealing with new student admission and student registration starting from 20 December 2010.
Meanwhile, the old office at Main Building is only used for academic administration services for diploma and S1 students,” said Director, Dr. Ir. Budi Prasetyo W, DEA, DESS.
The new building was built on the land that was previously used as office of Community Service Institute UGM. The academic building has 19 rooms completed with 71 computer units. Budi mentioned that the building is also completed with a special room for Academic English Proficiency Test (AcEPT) to test English skill and academic potential skill of students.
The Rector in his speech said that the new building is expected to improve the spirit and performance of the employees for better services.
