Introduction
The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada was established in 1955, as a result of the reorganization of The Faculty of Law, Economics, Social and Politics at Universitas Gadjah Mada. Currently, the Faculty has about 5,500 students, 200 lecturers and other faculty members. The Faculty offers various study concentration for prospective students, both in undergraduate and post-graduate level, such as:
* Economics, * Economic Development, * Finance, * Marketing, * Strategic Management, * Human Resource Management, * Management Information System, * Accounting Information System, * Management Accounting, and * Financial Accounting.
Those programs mentioned above are served by three departments: Economics, Management and Accounting. Each department is supported by competent professors and most of them hold doctoral degrees from respected universities around the world. All of the programs are accredited and ranked ‘A’ by the Board of National Accreditation. From the profile of the Faculty, the academic resources, the systems and the processes, we are proud to announce that the Faculty of Economics and Business of UGM is the foremost economic and bussiness faculty in the country.

The missions of the faculty, as follow:To be the best faculty of economics and business in Indonesia and highly respected in South-East Asia in teaching and knowledge advancement.
Facilities
Library Open from 08.00 a.m. to 07.00 p.m., the Faculty of Economic and Business reference library houses a large collection of resources, both in English and Indonesian. The collection includes books, journals and magazines, periodicals, and DVD-ROM databases. The library provides electronic access to over 1,800 journals and has many economic and business databases. To facilitate research works, internet access is also available at computer workstations within the library. Computer Lab. In order to maintain a more in-depth tutorial/teaching process, the Faculty of Economics and Business is equipped with 140 computers installed up-to-date software. Each computer runs with Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.5 GHz, memory 1 GB, harddisk space 320 GB, and 15″ LCD. Each also equipped with DVD-ROM, LAN system, and connected to the printers. The above facilities are available to students, free of charge. Each student possesses an individual login and password, thus students are provided with their own folder (hard-disk space) in the computer laboratory. Languange Lab. The students of the Faculty of Economics and Business can also make use of the Language Laboratory, which is equipped with 40 units of Master Console Sony Student Recorder. Competent lecturers and practitioners are also available for learning activities at the Language Laboratory. Sintesis A computerized system has been set up in order to simplify the registration process. The system enables students to register for the new semester, see and print grade/results, and check on academic related announcements. OthersThe faculty is also equipped with spacious air-conditioned classrooms, canteen, bookstore, and prayer rooms (Mushola). Photocopy, telephone, internet connection up to 20 Mbps, sports and recreational facilities are also provided, and a large parking area provides plentiful space for students’ vehicles.
