Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and Prasetya Mulya University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in education, research, and community service at the UGM Central Office on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
The MoU was signed by UGM Rector Professor Ova Emilia, and Prasetya Mulya University Rector Professor Djisman Simandjuntak.
Rector Emilia expressed hope that this MoU would lead to numerous collaborative efforts.
She noted that the partnership, which has been effectively established since 2017, focuses on leveraging each institution’s strengths to improve the quality of human resources in the country.
“As our motto suggests, ‘Locally Rooted, Globally Respected.’ This means that by working together, we can more intensively realize these three goals,” she explained.
Rector Emilia hopes that UGM and Prasetya Mulya can grow and advance together, synergizing their potential to benefit the scope of higher education activities mutually.
“This partnership is expected to yield tangible contributions to the progress of our beloved country, Indonesia,” she added.
Prasetya Mulya Rector Professor Djisman Simandjuntak stated that this collaboration could be more significant and beneficial for Indonesia, particularly in anticipation of the 2045 Indonesia Emas program.
As an economist, Rector Simandjuntak emphasized that for Indonesia to become an advanced nation, ‘momentum’ is required, which can be achieved through cooperation among many parties.
“Collaboration across functions, spaces, and institutions is needed,” he explained.
