Professor Koentjoro, the former Chair of the UGM Council of Professors, has officially entered retirement.
Along with 13 other retiring lecturers and education staff, he received a Certificate of Appreciation and Solidarity Fund from the UGM Civil Servants Corps (Korpagama) on Friday (Apr. 25) at the Korpagama Office, Bulaksumur B6.
As one of the retirees and a former Chair of the Korpagama Central Board, Professor Koentjoro expressed his appreciation for the recognition given to retiring UGM staff and faculty members.
“We sincerely thank Korpagama for truly embodying its slogan of care and dignity,” he said.
Professor Koentjoro shared that one of Korpagama’s notable achievements was advocating for the establishment of a religious complex in the Sendowo area, which now provides worship facilities for six religions. He initiated this effort based on the belief that UGM, as a Pancasila-based university, should uphold inclusivity in religious expression.
He also highlighted Korpagama’s role in improving access to healthcare services at the UGM Academic Hospital (RSA), which were previously difficult for staff to utilize.
“Thanks to Korpagama, staff now not only have easier access to RSA but also receive executive services at other UGM healthcare facilities, such as the Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM),” he explained.
Beyond these initiatives, Professor Koentjoro emphasized that many of Korpagama’s efforts were driven by a spirit of compassion and a deep commitment to improving staff welfare at UGM.
Korpagama holds monthly events to present Certificates of Appreciation and Solidarity Funds to retiring employees as a token of gratitude. This month’s event was held in conjunction with a Syawalan gathering.
Chair of the Korpagama Central Board, Professor Achmadi Priyatmojo, stated that the awards reflect the organization’s mission to ensure staff welfare and foster a strong sense of community.
Vice-Rector for Human Resources and Finance, Professor Supriyadi, added that Korpagama plays an essential role in supporting staff well-being and enhancing employee satisfaction at UGM.
“Korpagama is a valuable partner in our efforts to improve the welfare of both faculty and education staff,” he said.
Since September 2022, Korpagama has consistently presented these monthly awards. In April, the Certificate of Appreciation and Solidarity Fund was awarded to 14 retirees.
