Yogya (KU) - Acer Group and Intel Indonesia Corporation established cooperation with more than 30 universities throughout Indonesia. The cooperation aims to promote the education segment development of accelerated Information Technology (IT) penetration.

In Yogyakarta, Acer in collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) provides and promotes the latest technology products among academicians. "The cooperation with UGM aims to socialize Intel's latest technology. We view that IT education level and range among UGM students and lecturers have been mutually supportive," said Public Relations of Acer Group Indonesia, Astrid Warsito, Tuesday (18/5), at UGM University Club. Besides road shows and exhibition of the latest technology products, Astrid said that they also established cooperation with PT Gama Multi Usaha Mandiri to access the latest Acer product ownership among academicians.

Head of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Dr. Lukito Edi Nugroho welcomed the cooperation in the form of the latest product and technology exhibitions conducted by Acer and Intel. In his opinion, this is needed by students to get technology introduction and use. "For members of UGM academic community who are familiar with IT, the need for penetration of technology is getting greater, everything can not be separated from IT issues. Moreover, the current information technology is not limited to notebooks and laptop computers, but also PDAs and smartphones," he said.

He added that the penetration of communication technology in campus environment is very important. The effects of technology penetration are quite positive on students and lecturers for learning and research activities. "This new technology becomes a strategic factor to change academic habits. As an academic community, I support this updated technology event because we can know the latest processor technologies," he concluded.
